Trust levels and labels

What "New seller", "Identity verified" and "Established seller" mean, and how you move up.

Anyone can sell on PerfectPal. Instead of keeping people out, PerfectPal shows buyers plainly how far each seller has come. Your label appears on your page, your listings and in search.

The levels

  • New seller: where every seller starts. It's a fact, not a warning.
  • Identity verified: you've confirmed your email, verified your phone, and either finished card payment setup with Stripe or had your ID checked by PerfectPal staff.
  • Established seller: identity verified, with a record of completed sales, good reviews and time on PerfectPal.
  • Restricted: PerfectPal has limited the account while an issue is resolved. The reason shows on your Verification page.

How you move up

Your level is worked out from what you've done, and updates by itself. Open Settings › Verification to see your level and, under To reach the next level, exactly what's left, such as "Verify your phone number".

The numbers for "Established seller" (completed sales, number of reviews, average rating, account age, and no recent lost disputes) are set by PerfectPal and can differ by the animals you raise. Your Verification page always shows the ones that apply to you.

A completed sale counts when an order completes, or when a request is marked completed and was paid by card, or the buyer confirmed they got their animal.

What your level changes

  • What buyers see: the label and a short description of what it means.
  • Your limits: some limits, such as how many active listings you can have, combine your plan and your level, so they grow as you're established. See Plans and limits.
  • Search: buyers can filter by level, and level is one of the things search ranking looks at. Your plan never is.

Badges are separate

Labels describe your record on PerfectPal. Badges say what staff have checked against your documents, like breeder credentials or health testing. See Badges explained.
