Guide
Rules every listing follows
Go-home ages, species rules where you live, and prohibited listings apply to every seller, whatever their label.
Some rules apply to every seller on PerfectPal, from someone with their first listing to an established breeder. They protect the animals and keep sales legal.
Go-home ages
Young animals can't be marked as gone home before they're old enough. The minimum depends on the kind of animal and is set by PerfectPal. If you try too early, the form tells you why and what the minimum is.
Species rules where you live
Some species can't be sold in some provinces, states or regions, and some need a permit.
- Not allowed in your area: the listing form says the species "can't be sold in your area", and it can't be listed.
- Needs a permit: send your permit for review under Settings › Verification, ticking the species it covers. Once staff approve it for that species, you can list it. See Permits.
The rules follow the location on your profile, so keep it up to date.
Prohibited listings
Some animals and listings aren't allowed anywhere on PerfectPal. The full list is in the Seller policy. Anyone can report a listing that breaks it, and staff review every report.
Wording
Sales on PerfectPal are sales: buyers "apply", "inquire" or "order", and animals "go home". Only registered rescues use adoption wording, on rescue listings. See Rescue listings.
