Seller policy and prohibited listings

Last updated October 4, 2026

Rules for every seller

These apply to every seller, from someone selling a few animals once to an established breeder:

  • Animals only go home when they meet the minimum age and readiness rules shown for their animal type.
  • List only animals you have the right to sell, with any permits or documents the law requires.
  • Describe animals honestly, with your own photos, and disclose known health issues.
  • Keep conversations and payment arrangements on PerfectPal where you can.

Not allowed

  • Species that are banned where you or the buyer live, or that need permits you don't hold.
  • Wild-caught animals offered as captive-bred.
  • Animals that are sick, injured or too young to go home.
  • Listings that ask for payment by gift card, cryptocurrency or wire transfer.
  • Rescue or adoption listings, which PerfectPal doesn't support yet.

What happens when a rule is broken

Listings may be removed. Confirmed problems are recorded on the seller's account, and repeated problems restrict the account: listings are shown less often and some limits are lower until it's resolved. Sellers are always told why.
