Request forms and saved replies

Write your own application and inquiry questions, choose which listings use them, and save answers you send often.

Request forms

Buyers and paperwork › Request forms holds the questions buyers answer when they inquire or apply.

  • Without a form, buyers answer the standard questions.
  • A form replaces them. It starts with the standard questions as suggestions you can reword, reorder or remove, and you add your own.

To make one, choose New form, name it, choose whether it's for applications or inquiries, then add questions. Each question has an answer type (short or long answer, choose one, choose any, yes/no, number, date) and can be required, have a help note, or be asked only if an earlier question has a certain answer. Use a section heading to split a long form. The preview shows what buyers see.

Every form keeps one question all requests ask (a message for inquiries, "about you" for applications), so no request arrives empty. You can reword it.

How many of your own questions a form can have depends on your plan; suggested questions don't count.

Which form a listing uses

Use it automatically for sets a form as the default for a species, an animal type, or your whole page. The most specific default wins. A listing can also pick a form itself under Request form.

Changes apply to new requests. Requests you've already received keep the questions the buyer answered. Retire this form stops it being used; listings that picked it go back to choosing automatically.

The same page sets how new listings start: as applications, inquiries or buy now.

Saved replies

Buyers and paperwork › Saved replies keeps answers you send often (availability, how pickup works…), ready to insert into any message and edit before sending. Use {buyer}, {listing} and {seller} to fill in the buyer's first name, the listing and your name.

Automatic reply

An automatic reply is sent once, straight away, when someone sends you a new inquiry or application. Buyers see that it's automatic. It's handy for "nothing available right now" or when you're away. Whether you have it depends on your plan.
