Guide
Away mode
Going away? Show buyers your return date, pause buy now, and keep questions and requests open.
Away mode is for a holiday, a show, or any stretch when you can't send orders. You set your last day away; PerfectPal does the rest, and it ends by itself.
Turn it on
- In the dashboard menu, under Today, open Away mode.
- Choose your Last day away. Buy now opens again the next day, in your time zone. How far ahead you can choose is set by PerfectPal; the page says how far.
- Add a short Note for buyers if you like ("At a show, back on the 4th"). It's shown with the date, so don't put contact details in it.
- Choose Turn on away mode.
While it's on, every dashboard page shows Away until with your date and a link to change it or end it. End away mode now ends it at once.
You need the Orders area to turn it on or off, since it pauses buy-now orders.
What buyers see
- Your page and your listings show Away until with your date, and your note. Search results show the date under your name too. It's a plain line, not a label about you.
- On buy-now listings, Buy now and Add to basket are replaced by the day buy now opens again, and checkout is refused for your listings, including from the basket. Anything a buyer already put in their basket stays there for when you're back.
- Inquiries, applications and messages from your page stay open.
What keeps going
- Payment requests you already sent can still be paid: you chose to send them.
- A checkout a buyer started before you went away can still be paid; it closes by itself soon. The away mode page says how many are open.
- Automatic replies: if your automatic reply is on, new requests and messages get it with your return date added. If it's off, PerfectPal sends a short automatic reply with the date instead.
- "Still available?" emails wait: PerfectPal doesn't ask about your listings, or pause any for want of an answer, while you're away. See "Still available?" emails and paused listings.
Your response rate
Away mode doesn't change how your response rate is worked out: days away aren't left out. Automatic replies don't count as you answering, PerfectPal's away reply or your own: only a reply you or your team write, or a status change you make, does. If you'll be slow to answer, say so in your note.
