Eastern rosellas are brightly coloured, active Australian parrots that need room to fly. They're best for people who enjoy watching birds more than handling them.
Housing
An aviary or a long flight at least 1.8 m long. Rosellas can be aggressive to other birds, so keep one pair per flight.
With good care many live 15 to 25 years, so plan for who will care for your bird if your life changes.
Diet
A quality parakeet seed mix or pellet with greens, vegetables, fruit and sprouted seed. They love to bathe; offer a shallow dish.
Company
Keep a pair on their own. They're beautiful to watch, but most don't enjoy being handled, and they call loudly at times.
