Appendix II

Crimson-bellied conures are small, playful conures with striking colours, close relatives of the green-cheeked conure.

Personality and noise

They're quieter than larger conures but still call, especially at dawn and dusk. They're active and love to play and chew.

With good care many live 20 to 30 years, so plan for who will care for your bird if your life changes.

Housing

A cage at least 60 cm wide with 1.3 to 1.9 cm bar spacing, a sleeping tent or hut if your bird likes one, and several hours out of the cage every day.

Diet

A quality pellet as the base, fresh vegetables every day, and fruit and seeds as treats.
